The 63rd General Conference (GC) of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will take place in Vienna from 16-20 September. The annual meeting is the IAEA principal decision-making forum, with high-level representation from almost all 170 Member States. Representatives from the IAEA’s Member States, including at ministerial level and above, discuss at the General Conference, key elements of the agency’s priorities in its work on the peaceful use of nuclear technologies and set directions for the development of the world nuclear industry.
Nuclear Netherlands (NNL) unites the six most important nuclear companies and organisations in the Netherlands, among which is PALLAS, and both are present during the GC. They visit various side events, which vary from technical meetings to safety and security dialogues. There are several meetings on a range of topics, like ‘Youth in Nuclear’ and ‘Reactor Technology Innovation to Support Integration of Renewable Energy Systems and Nuclear Installations’. A complete overview of the side events can be found here: link.
It is only possible to visit the General Conference by invitation. A livestream of some events is offered on the IAEA website.
