The Foundation Preparation Pallas-reactor (PALLAS) has submitted two zoning plans, including an SEA (Strategic Environmental Assessment, Plan-MER), to the municipality of Schagen. The documents were published today on the website of the municipality of Schagen.
A number of changes have been made to the design of the PALLAS-reactor since the adoption of the ‘PALLAS-reactor’ zoning plan (which became irrevocable with the decision of the Administrative Jurisdiction Division (Afdeling bestuursrechtspraak) of the Council of State on 11 March 2020). These and other changes gave rise to a new zoning plan procedure. The aspects that are adapted or supplemented can roughly be divided into three elements: the construction of a temporary building site, the extension of the “Business park – Special business park” destination to facilitate the changes in the design of the PALLAS-reactor, and the planning of the location of the cooling water pipe system. In order to document the aforementioned aspects properly, two zoning plans including an SEA have been drawn up in close consultation with the municipality and all relevant administrative bodies: “PALLAS plot” and “Partiële herziening PALLAS-reactor, 2021”.
