About the job

Your risk management expertise will be added to the PALLAS PMO professionals, who are responsible for project planning and control of this> €1,5bln nuclear project. A firm challenge for you and the team. Not only because of the scale and budget, but moreover because it’s the first nuclear newbuild in the Netherlands since 50 years and a one of a kind nuclear reactor in the world. Such a project requires mature Risk Management. Therefore PALLAS developed a software program called WorQmanager - which is a well thought out risk tooling, and enables continuous risk monitoring, scoring and pro-active facilitating of schedule and cost impact according to the bow-tie method.

A brief summary of your activities:

  • Facilitating risk sessions and maintaining the risk register within the organization;
  • Monitoring risks by continual checking, supervising, critically observing or determining the status of risks;
  • Supporting the project team in risk sessions and individual risk updates;
  • Preparing the risk data for the project (progress) reports;
  • Organizing and follow up Risk Sessions with main Contractors;
  • Supporting QSRA and QCRA analysis as required;
  • Follow up on the implementation of defined risk mitigation actions.

Your profile

You know all there’s to know about Risk management, preferably in larger infra projects and you’re looking for challenge in the hors category. Scale and complexity of the PALLAS project requires not only intellect, but also the ability to communicate and co-operate with various stakeholders from different backgrounds and cultures. Furthermore you:

  • Hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering;
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant position;
  • Are familiar with Monte Carlo Analysis;
  • Master English (fluently spoken and written);
  • Are already living in or willing to move to the Alkmaar region

A personality test and/or English language proficiency assessment may be administered if deemed necessary.

About PALLAS

At our office in Alkmaar, over a 100 (nuclear) specialists from more than 20 countries are working on the realization of the PALLAS-reactor: a state-of-the-art multifunctional nuclear reactor, to be built in the dunes of Petten, just 60 km’s north of Amsterdam. This newbuild will enable the Netherlands to continue to help millions of people and even save lives for the next 50 years. The isotopes are used for diagnoses and treatment of 30.000 patients a day worldwide, that suffer from life-threatening diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular conditions. And by carrying out various nuclear (technological) research programs, the PALLAS-reactor will also contribute to the development of safe and climate neutral energy supply.

This extensive and complex programme is supported by the PALLAS PMO team, in which seven professionals work on planning & scheduling, project control and project controls management. Now the project has entered the Detailed Design phase, the PMO team would like to add a Risk Manager to their team.
