Who is PALLAS?
Every day, 30,000 patients depend on medical isotopes from Petten. In order to guarantee security of supply in the future, preparations are now being made for the construction of the PALLAS-reactor and the realisation of the Nuclear Health Centre.
The Foundation Preparation Pallas-reactor (PALLAS) aims to realize a 'state-of-the-art' multifunctional reactor, which will be designed for the production of (medical) isotopes and for nuclear technological research. This reactor will replace the current High Flux Reactor (HFR) in Petten (NL). With the HFR, NRG produces medical isotopes with which doctors all over the world diagnose and treat life-threatening diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases. The Nuclear Health Centre will process and package medical isotopes into radio chemicals and radiopharmaceuticals (medicines). The development of this production facility runs parallel to the realisation of the PALLAS-reactor.
Function
PALLAS works with a Common Data Environment combined with a state of the art ‘Car Wash For Data’, ensuring engineering data streams from various sources are cleaned and translated into uniform codes. In this way PALLAS will optimize the information process during the construction phase and have a Digital Twin to be used during the whole lifecycle for asset and maintenance management purposes. Our CDE is ISO19650 based, uses Weaver as a graph database and we’re proud to mention the “Car Wash For Data” is nominated for a Cobouw Award.
Together with your fellow BIM-coordinator you are responsible for ensuring the quality of design and engineering models to be imported into our CDE. Being an experienced BIM-coordinator or modeller, you know this is all about working in close co-operation with your team, engineering department and the BIM coordinators of contractors. On a daily basis you’ll be guarding BIM processes, perform clash and usability checks, etc. by using tools such as Solibri and BIMcollab. And last, but not least you will be supporting our engineering department in using these tools.
Activities
What’s different from the usual BIM-work is the complexity that comes along with a >€1 bln nuclear project, working with our “Cobouw nominated CDE/Car Wash For Data” process and of course the occasional trip to Argentina where one of our engineering partners is based.
A brief summary of your activities:
- Acceptance / approval of contractor commissioning documentation on behalf of PALLAS;
- Follows the PALLAS Building Information Management process and supplies input for and follows project-specific plans and procedures in order to implement this process;
- Integrates the contractor models to usable federated models;
- Assist in the production of reports and measurements as may be required by the project team and stakeholders.
A full job description is available upon request.
