PALLAS is pleased to announce that Margaret McGrath (52) will join the company as Programme Developer Nuclear Research per 1 January 2018. Previously, Margaret served as the project manager of the OECD Halden Reactor Project (HRP) and marketing director of the Halden Reactor. Margaret is an experienced researcher and programme leader with an international reputation. Her capabilities and international network can help PALLAS with new research developments and international collaborations.
Margaret received a PhD in Metallurgy in 1992 while working for the CEGB (Central Electricity Generating Board) in the UK, having received a B.Eng (Hons) in Metallurgy from Leeds University, UK, in 1987. She has 30 years of experience in nuclear fuels and materials experimental-based research. In her position at Halden she was specifically responsible for the Fuels and Materials Joint Research Programme of the HRP for the 20-country membership, as well as being Marketing Director for the programme of contract research projects in the Halden reactor. Her previous experience at Halden includes more detailed project management of in-reactor experiments, together with evaluation and analysis of results, in co-operation with technical leads within customer organizations. Prior to emigrating to Norway, she worked for the nuclear utility in the UK as a research scientist studying the effects of irradiation on fuel assembly and reactor core components.
